How Could Violence be Used to Get What You Want

Why do people use violence, there is no need for this type of thing going around because there is a better way of doing this. Just because you friend or family even, if they use violence doesn't mean you should start using it. It is and always will be the worst thing to do in a situation. Just like in this book I'm reading for English, Animal Farm, they are planning to use violence to solve their problems instead of trying to talk it out or work something out instead of going in and taking over the situation like the farm animals are going to do. I know hurting people and showing them not to do that the hard way will probably work, but
